Derek's Time-Space Warp

A collection of thoughts and experiences as I explore the universe, warping time and space in my vicinity

Three-quarters of an engineer

Well I’m pleased to say I just finished 3rd-year mechanical engineering! I just wrote my last exam yesterday after almost three straight weeks of nothing but studying and writing exams. The 3B term was brutal, much tougher than any of my previous study terms. But with God’s help, and a little encouragement from my friends (and more than a little coffee!), I made it through. Funny thing is, I still feel like I have to be doing something at every moment of the day….it may take another day or two before I can relax without feeling “guilty.”

Now with school out of the way, I can concentrate on the important things of life, you know, like getting my mountain bike back into road condition, dusting off my guitar, teaching swim lessons at the local pool, practicing my basketball moves, hanging out with my youth group friends, or fixing up my van. Also I’ll be working my sixth and last co-op job at a place called Dalsa (www.dalsa.com), in Waterloo. I worked there last fall and really enjoyed it, so I was really happy when they asked me to come back. It’s gonna be a good summer for sure!
